Welcome to my on-line library of Mirage sounds. All the sounds here are in Midifile format and packed into zip files. There is a read.me file included with every sound - please read it as it gives instructions on how to set up the Mirage to accept the sound dumps. The Mirage should be booted with Masos to accept the dumps.

Each has programs that use both velocity and mod wheel mixing of samples.

SH 101 Synth
A sample taken from my SH 101 for the Upper half of the Mirage. I have made
use extensive use of the Mirage's VCF's in various programs.
TR 909 Drum machine
A set of 909 Drum sounds for the Lower half of the Mirage. A very basic set
but has the added bonus of a few backwards versions.
TR 808 Drum machine
A set of classic TR 808 Drum sounds for both halves of the Mirage. A nice
bass drum , a few snare variations and a cowbell that loops perfectly !
TR 606 Drum machine
More analog drum fun with Rolands little silver drum box. This set of sounds
uses both the Lower and Upper half of the Mirage.
TR 727 Drum machine
Moving away from more traditional drum sounds to some Percusion.
Conga's , bongos , chimes and more. This set of sounds uses both
the Lower and Upper half of the Mirage and another Lower half again !
CR 8000 Drum machine
Analog drum fun with Rolands CompuRythim 8000. Some of the sounds
here are famliar, noticeably the Clap, Cowbell and Cymbal sounds
that sound somewhat 808ish. This set of sounds uses both the Lower
and Upper half of the Mirage.
Other Synths
Casio CZ 101 Strings
There are two basic sounds, the first a string sound and the second
a stringy kind of sound but with a harder attack. There are two programs
per sound, each quite different. It's for the Lower half of the Mirage,
although the Top Key parameter is set to the maximum ,61, so the sounds
occupy the whole keyboard.
Korg DW 8000 E-Piano & Strings
Sampled from this lovely digital/analog hybrid synth that even
has a built in delay effect. A Low and High Electric Piano sound
a string sound and a velocity mixed piano/string patch. For the
Lower half of the Mirage.
Korg DW 8000 Brass
Some brass style sounds from the Korg. For the Upper half of the
Mirage.
Yamaha FB 01 Bass sounds
Two bass sounds from the FB01 FM tone generator. Sampled with the Mirage
through the input sampling filter. For the Lower half of the Mirage.
Other Drums
Bass and Snare collection
A set of drum sounds for both the Lower and Upper half of the Mirage.
They are individual hits taken from various drum loops.
SCI DrumTraks Drum Machine
A set of drum sounds for Lower and Upper halves from this classic
Sequential Circuits drum machine.
Other Instruments and Vocals
Slap Bass
Get thumpin and pullin those strings. Uses velocity mixing
to swap between the sounds. For the Lower half.
Vocal note (looped)
A single vocal note that has been looped quite nicely (if I dont say
so myself ;) For the Lower half of the Mirage.
Other Sounds
Morph style sound
A vocal and a string sound "morphing" Four programs and two waves .For the Lower
half of the Mirage.
Twang and Ping sounds
A pipe hit, the sounds of a plastic chopstick. For the Lower half
of the Mirage.
WaveTable sounds
All these sounds were created using a software synth called Turbosynth.
They make use of the WaveTable oscillator. There are four zip files
here and each contain very different sounds.
Comprises two samples. The first is a sine to triangle to sine wave movement,
the second a saw to tri to saw movement. They are used in differnt ways over
the four programs.
This is one long sample used in various ways. Quite dark.
Two samples, this time the wavetables were created in a fairly random way to
give some variety. Again all four programs are used.
